Errigal Montessori School and Crèche is divided into seven areas and each area is designed with each age group in mind:

Baby Room

Our babies are cared for from four months upwards in a cosy and relaxed atmosphere. As the staff ratio is 3/1 each baby is given lots of love and affection while establishing good routine and continuity of care.

Our sleep room is warm and decorated with a great feeling of relaxation.

Toddler Room 1

We have specific designed furniture which enhances the curriculum for children between the ages of 1–1½ years old, which offers our toddlers the chance to be in control and participate in group play, fantasy play and independent play with suitable equipment. This area is a warm, bright area which is decorated with recognisable, characters, i.e. Winnie The Pooh on the wall for children to relate to. These areas have a separate hygienic changing facility and sleep room.

Toddler Room 2

We have specific designed furniture which enhances the curriculum for children between the ages of 1½ years–2½ years, which offers our toddlers the chance to be in control and participate in group play, fantasy play and independent play with suitable equipment. Also, children in this area are toilet trained by the staff in the crèche. This area has a separate changing facility and low level toilets that allow for toilet training.

Montessori Rooms

The children are introduced to the Montessori Rooms from the age of 2½ years where we practice the Montessori Method of Education. Our Montessori School is accredited to St. Nicholas Montessori Association of Ireland. We have two fully equipped Montessori rooms in our crèche.

Out-Door Play Area

Our Out-door play area has three large, spacious all weather surfaced playgrounds and a large grass play area which is safe, secure and supervised. These are equipped with a wide range of toys i.e. sand pit, climbing frame, bikes, push-a-longs, slides, playhouses, etc. We also have a garden area that the children use to grow flowers and vegetables.

After School Facility

Our After School Facility caters for children of school going age. The children are collected from the bus at the entrance gates. Each child’s homework is supervised by the staff. The children are fully involved in planning the After School programme. The children socialise in a home-from-home environment.

Meals

Nutritious healthy meals are prepared and cooked each day by our chef in our crèche kitchen.
